When your MEATER Block or MEATER Pro XL is in Standalone mode, you can set up and monitor cooks right on the built-in screen without needing the app. This also means you'll be able to use the product in areas without a WiFi signal, but keep in mind that the Bluetooth range will be quite a bit more limited.
To start a cook, just go through the following steps:
- Turn on the charger with the power button.
- Select "Standalone mode".
- Take the probe you want to use out of the charger, then select that probe on the screen.
- Use the up/down and circle buttons to pick your protein, cut, and target temperature.
From there, your cook will start, and the charger will sound alerts when it's time to rest and when your cook is done.
While the cook is in progress, you can also use the left/right buttons to scroll through your internal, ambient, and target temperatures, as well as your cook time. If you want to adjust your target or cancel the cook, you can select the probe with the circle button at any time.
