About Product Resets
In some cases, you may need to reset your MEATER unit to troubleshoot issues.
Reset instructions vary by MEATER model, and some products have multiple reset options. Some resets help troubleshoot issues. Knowing the difference ensures the best experience with your device.
PLEASE NOTE: Only use these resets after trying all other troubleshooting steps.
When and How to Reset Your MEATER Products
Find the section below for your MEATER product to learn about its reset options.
MEATER, MEATER Plus, MEATER SE, & MEATER Pro
These single-probe devices have one power cycle option, which can be used for:
- Identifying which component is causing an issue.
- Fixing pairing problems.
To power cycle these devices, follow these steps:
- Turn off Bluetooth on your phone or tablet.
- Remove both the probe and the AAA battery from the dock.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Insert only the battery back into the dock.
- Check if the LED on the dock lights up.
- For MEATER, MEATER Plus, and MEATER SE, press the black button on the front of the dock to check.
- For MEATER Pro, the LED should light up green for 3 seconds when the battery is inserted.
- Put the probe back into the dock.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- For all devices except the original MEATER, remove the probe from the dock to see if the LED blinks green.
- On MEATER Pro, the LED will blink green for about 10 seconds initially. Check the color it blinks after 10 seconds.
- Turn your phone or tablet's Bluetooth back on.
MEATER Block
Your MEATER Block has several reset options for different situations.
- Probe Pairing
- Note: This option is not available during an active cook.
- When to Use: For probe-to-dock connection issues, after trying all other troubleshooting steps.
- How to Perform:
- Place all 4 probes in the dock, ensuring they are in the correct order.
- Turn on your MEATER Block in either mode.
- Press the Settings button (gear icon) on the touchpad.
- Scroll down and select Probe Pairing.
- Wait for check marks to appear next to all 4 probes.
- Factory Reset (Settings Menu)
- When to Use:
- For probe-to-dock connection issues, after trying all other steps and if Probe Pairing doesn't work.
- To change the MEATER Cloud account linked to the device.
- As a last resort when no other troubleshooting steps resolve a connection issue.
- How to Perform:
- Place all 4 probes in the dock, ensuring they are in the correct order.
- Turn on your MEATER Block in either mode.
- Press the Settings button (gear icon) on the touchpad.
- Scroll down and select Factory Reset.
- Select Yes.
- When to Use:
- Factory Reset (Settings Button)
- When to Use: For any of the above reasons, if the Settings menu option is unavailable.
- How to Perform:
- Hold down the Settings button (gear icon) on the touchpad for 15 seconds until the Erase All Settings? prompt appears.
- Select Yes.
MEATER Pro Duo
Your MEATER Pro Duo has several reset options for different situations.
- Probe Pairing
- Note: If your MEATER Pro Duo is paired to more than one phone or tablet, this option will only appear on the primary device.
- When to Use: For probe-to-dock connection issues, after trying all other troubleshooting steps.
- How to Perform:
- In the MEATER app dashboard, tap any dock icon (or tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner, select My Devices, and tap MEATER Pro Duo under My Paired Extender Devices).
- Tap Reset MEATER Pro Duo (iOS) or Device Reset (Android).
- Select Pair Probes (iOS) or Unpair Probes (Android).
- Follow the instructions in the app.
- Factory Reset (MEATER App)
- When to Use:
- For probe-to-dock connection issues, after trying all other steps and if Probe Pairing doesn't work.
- To change the MEATER Cloud account linked to the device.
- As a last resort when no other troubleshooting steps resolve a connection issue.
- How to Perform:
- In the MEATER app dashboard, tap any dock icon (or tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner, select My Devices, and tap MEATER Pro Duo under My Paired Extender Devices).
- Tap Reset MEATER Pro Duo (iOS) or Device Reset (Android).
- Select Reset MEATER Pro Duo.
- When to Use:
- Large Reset Button (1-3 Second Press)
- When to Use: For any of the above reasons.
- How to Perform:
- Place both probes in the dock, ensuring they are in the correct order.
- Open the panel on the back of the dock.
- Press the large button for 1-3 seconds.
- Large Reset Button (12-15 Second Press)
- When to Use: For any of the above reasons, if the short press doesn't work. Avoid unless absolutely necessary.
- How to Perform:
- Place both probes in the dock, ensuring they are in the correct order.
- Open the panel on the back of the dock.
- Press the large button for 12-15 seconds.
MEATER Pro XL
Your MEATER Pro XL has several reset options for different situations.
- Probe Pairing
- Note: This option is not available during an active cook.
- When to Use: For probe-to-dock connection issues, after trying all other troubleshooting steps.
- How to Perform:
- Place all 4 probes in the dock, ensuring they are in the correct order.
- Turn on your MEATER Pro XL in either mode.
- Press the Settings button (list icon) on the touchpad.
- Scroll down and select Probe Pairing.
- Wait for check marks to appear next to all 4 probes.
- Factory Reset (Settings Menu)
- When to Use:
- For probe-to-dock connection issues, after trying all other steps and if Probe Pairing doesn't work.
- To change the MEATER Cloud account linked to the device.
- As a last resort when no other troubleshooting steps resolve a connection issue.
- How to Perform:
- Place all 4 probes in the dock, ensuring they are in the correct order.
- Turn on your MEATER Pro XL in either mode.
- Press the Settings button (list icon) on the touchpad.
- Scroll down and select Factory Reset.
- Select Yes.
- When to Use:
- Pinhole Button (1-3 Second Press)
- When to Use: For any of the above reasons, if the Settings menu option is unavailable.
- How to Perform:
- Insert a small object, like a pin or paperclip, into the hole on the back of the dock.
- Push until you feel a click.
- Hold for 1-3 seconds.
- Pinhole Button (12-15 Second Press)
- When to Use: For any of the above reasons, if the short press doesn't work. Avoid unless absolutely necessary.
- How to Perform:
- Insert a small object, like a pin or paperclip, into the hole on the back of the dock.
- Push until you feel a click.
- Hold for 12-15 seconds.
