Probe-to-Block Connectivity Range by Appliance Type
The ranges below refer to the distance between the probe and charging dock.
We recommend to keep the mobile device as close to the probe as possible and within line-of-sight of the probe as the ranges specified are up to the identified distance, not a guarantee. Learn more about this on the article Faraday Cages.

Probe Sensor Accuracy
Note: The probes are professionally calibrated and are designed to maintain its accuracy over time. No recalibration is necessary.
- The internal sensor is accurate to 1°F / .5°C
- The ambient sensor is accurate to within 31°F / 5°C
Probe-Dock Compatibility
- MEATER Block probes can be used only with the MEATER Block dock. These probes may not be used interchangeably with any other MEATER products.
- MEATER Block pairs with the MEATER app. It will not pair with the Traeger app, nor will it connect to a Traeger grill.
Power Source
- The main power source for the MEATER Block is 4-AA batteries. While we do not recommend rechargeable batteries, they may be used as long as the batteries are 1.5 volt.
- The purpose of the USB port is to provide an alternative power source for long cooks.
- A micro-USB cable is not included because the MEATER Block primarily runs on the AA batteries and the USB can be used as a backup power method.
- The port is compatible with any 5V micro-USB cable.
