WiFi Network Not Available During Setup

What's in This Article?

This article guides you through the WiFi settings to look for when connecting MEATER Block, MEATER Pro Duo, or MEATER Pro XL to your home network.

About WiFi Conditions

We have certain conditions that need to be met for MEATER devices to see and connect to a WiFi network. Check the sections below to make sure your home network meets all of the requirements. This helps prevent connection issues and ensures a smooth setup.

Network Requirements

Check the following to make sure your network is compatible with MEATER:

  • The network must be using the 2.4GHz frequency.
    • MEATER devices can only see and connect to 2.4GHz networks, so 5GHz networks won't appear as available in the Quick Start Guide.
      • The only exception to the above is on split dual-band networks where there may be 2 options (for example, HomeWifi and HomeWifi-5G).
    • For dual-band networks with a combined SSID, the MEATER device will automatically connect to the 2.4GHz band.
  • The network must be visible.
    • Hidden SSIDs won't appear during setup.
  • The SSID must be 32 characters or fewer.
    • Networks with longer names won't show up in the Quick Start Guide.
    • Spaces and special characters count toward the character limit.
    • If the network name is too long, you may need to shorten it or use a guest network.

Router Settings

Check your router's configuration to avoid setup conflicts:

  • LAN to WLAN Multicast and Broadcast must be enabled.
  • If the your router supports Airtime Fairness, this feature must be disabled.
  • Additional security settings like Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), firewalls, and privacy blockers should be temporarily disabled during setup.
    • These can be enabled again once the MEATER device is connected.
