About the LEDs
The MEATER Pro Duo charger has 2 LEDs, each corresponding to one of the probes (the left LED responds to probe #1 and the right LED responds to probe #2). These LEDs have a few purposes:
- When you take a probe out of the charger, the behavior of the light on the same side tells you the status of the built-in lithium-ion battery:
- If the LED is solid green for 3 seconds, the charger is working and has some battery left.
- If there's no LED, the battery is drained or there's an issue with the charger.
- When a probe is out of the charger, the blinking light on the same side lets you know whether or not the probe is connected.
- When the product is plugged in, the lights let you know when it's charging and fully charged:
- While MEATER Pro Duo is charging, the LED on the left will slowly blink red.
- As of firmware version 3.0.9.8, both LEDs will turn solid green once the product is fully charged (about 2 hours).
How to Fix This Issue
If the LEDs don't light up at all, we have a few things you can try.
1. Plug Product In
In most cases, when the lights aren't coming on, it just means that the lithium-ion battery is drained and needs to charge. Plug in the product with a USB-C cable (ideally the one that came with it), and make sure the left LED starts slowly blinking red.
If the light does come on, let it charge for 15 minutes for the probes to be ready for a cook, or 2 hours for the charger to have a full battery.
2. Swap USB-C Cable
If the light isn't coming on while the charger is plugged in, try using a different USB-C cable.
We recommend always using the cable that came with your MEATER Pro Duo, if you aren't already.
3. Check for Probe Issues
There can be situations where one of the probes is causing a short in the charger. try the steps below to see if this might be the case:
- Take both probes out of the charger.
- Plug in the charger and make sure the left LED blinks red slowly.
If the light still doesn't come on at this point, the issue is most likely with the charger. If the light does come on, follow the steps below to see if a probe is causing the issue:
- Put just one probe back in the charger.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Take the probe out of the charger again to see if the LED on that side still lights up green.
- Repeat the steps above with the other probe.
Next Steps
If you've still got a green light on both sides, you should be good to go! Once the charger is working again, you'll most likely need to let the probes charge for 15 minutes before they're ready for a cook.
If there's still no LEDs on the charger, please Contact Us, and let your agent know the results of the tests above.
