For best results, we recommend using MEATER with fully thawed meats. While it’s technically possible to cook frozen meat with MEATER, it can lead to inaccurate readings and undercooked food.
- It takes longer to cook: Frozen meat needs more time to heat up, which means your cook will take longer than expected.
- The probe might not insert correctly: Inserting the probe into frozen meat can be difficult. If it’s not placed properly, your MEATER may give you inaccurate temperature readings.
- Resting can start too early: MEATER’s Guided Cook uses temperature trends to determine when to rest the meat. If the meat is still frozen inside, the resting stage might be triggered before the meat is fully cooked — leaving you with an undercooked result.
