No Power to MEATER Pro XL Charger

What's in This Article?

About the Screen

One of the key features of MEATER Pro XL is that it has a built-in OLED display and touchpad. These have a few purposes:

  • You can see the charger battery level, the probe connection status, the WiFi connection status, and the MEATER Cloud connection status on the screen.
  • You can set up and monitor cooks in Standalone mode without needing to use your phone or tablet.
  • You can view the product's firmware version and change the temperature scale between Celsius and Fahrenheit right in the built-in menu.

When the charger is working correctly and the lithium-ion battery has enough power, the screen will come on when you press the power button.

How to Fix This Issue

If the screen and touchpad aren't responsive at all, we have a few things you can try.

1. Plug Product In

In most cases, when the charger isn't powering up, it just means that the lithium-ion battery is drained and needs to charge. Plug in the product with a USB-C cable (ideally the one that came with it), and make sure the left LED starts slowly blinking red.

If it does come on, let it charge for 15 minutes for the probes to be ready for a cook, or 2 hours for the charger to have a full battery.

2. Swap USB-C Cable

If the charger isn't turning on while the it's plugged in, try using a different USB-C cable.

We recommend always using the cable that came with your MEATER Pro XL, if you aren't already.

3. Check for Probe Issues

There can be situations where one of the probes is causing a short in the charger. try the steps below to see if this might be the case:

  1. Take all 4 probes out of the charger.
  2. Plug in the charger and make sure the LED blinks red slowly.
    • While the charger is plugged in, you can also confirm that it's charging by turning it on and looking for the plug icon at the top of the screen.

If the screen still doesn't come on at this point, the issue is most likely with the charger. If it does come on, follow the steps below to see if a probe is causing the issue:

  1. Turn the charger off.
  2. Put just one probe back in the charger.
  3. Wait 10 seconds.
  4. Press the power button to see if everything still powers up.
  5. Repeat the steps above with the rest of the probes, one at a time.

Next Steps

If everything is still turning on, you should be good to go! Once the charger is working again, you'll most likely need to let the probes charge for 15 minutes before they're ready for a cook.

If there's still no response from the charger, please Contact Us, and let your agent know the results of the tests above.

You can also go back to the start if you need more help with any other concerns.
