This article covers what to do if you see an over temperature alert with an image of a MEATER charger in the MEATER app.
What It Means
MEATER charging docks can operate between 14°F / -10°C and 140°F / 60°C. When the charger gets too hot, an alert will trigger in the MEATER app so that you can move the charger and avoid damage.
Why It Happens
Since most MEATER chargers need to stay close to the cooking appliance so the probes can stay connected, this usually happens when the charger is too close to a heat source or sitting on a hot grill shelf.
How to Fix It
If you're seeing the "Over Temperature" warning, relocate the charger to a place where it's still close enough to connect to the probe(s), but isn't exposed to any kind of extreme heat.
If you have any of our single-probe devices, we recommend using our MEATER Hanger. You can stick the magnetic back of your single-probe MEATER charger to it, then hang it from your grill.
