How to Pair Your MEATER Pro XL with the MEATER App

Pairing your MEATER Pro XL is an easy process you can complete in just a few simple steps.

1. Charge Your MEATER Pro XL

  • Before starting the pairing process, ensure that your MEATER Pro XL has been charging for at least 30 minutes. This helps prevent issues during pairing, such as disconnections or the device not pairing properly.

2. Download & Open the MEATER App

If you don't have the MEATER app, download it from the App Store on iPhone or the Play Store for Android. Look for the following icon:mceclip0-removebg-preview.png

Open the MEATER App and tap Add Devices.

  • If you already have a MEATER paired, tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the home screen. From the drop-down menu, select Add Devices. If the app doesn’t automatically prompt you to add a device, manually tap the + Add Device button.

If no other MEATER devices are in range, the app will bypass the device selection screen and proceed directly to the next step.

4. Prepare Your Unit for Pairing

Once you reach the Pairing Screen, you will need to prepare the probes for pairing.

  • Remove the Probes from the Charger: Remove both probes from the charger.

  • Wait for the Green Light: Ensure the probes are within range of the charger. Wait for the green light to blink. The blinking green light indicates that the probes are paired with the dock. Each light corresponds to the right or left probe, respectively.

Once the probes are ready, the app should display the "MEATER Pro XL Found" screen.

5.1 Update Firmware, If Needed

If a firmware update is available, the app will prompt you to proceed with a firmware update.

  • Screen Behavior: The screen on the dock of your Pro XL will display an update progress bar. You can check the progress on it.

We recommend proceeding with the update, as running the latest version helps avoid issues during setup or in the future.

Firmware Update Fails: If the app doesn’t display the connection complete screen or if the connection fails, refer to MEATER Pro XL Not Connecting for additional steps.

Watch MEATER Academy Videos

Once your device is paired, the app may take you to the Getting Started or Quick Start Guide screen. You’ll need to watch three short videos about using your MEATER product.

Each video is under 30 seconds long. You can skip the videos, but you must watch all three before starting your first cook. If you attempt to start a cook without watching the videos, the app will prompt you to watch them first.
