Before You Get Started
- Charge the MEATER Pro XL for at least 30 minutes. For best results, use the included USB-C cable to charge your dock.
- Make sure your phone is connected to a stable 2.4GHz WiFi network.
A MEATER Cloud Account is required to use the MEATER App
Step 1. Open the MEATER App
Open the MEATER App on your phone. On your first login, the app will prompt you to add a device. If the app doesn’t automatically prompt you to add a device, manually tap the + Add Device button.
If you already have a MEATER paired, tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the home screen. From the drop-down menu, select Add Devices.
Step 2. Accept Safety Information
You will be prompted to accept the Safety Agreement before continuing. Afterward, the app will display educational screens explaining temperature sensors and charging.
Step 3. Prepare Your Unit for Pairing
When you reach the pairing screen, prepare the probes for pairing.
- Remove the Probes from the Charger: Remove both probes from the charger.
- Wait for the Green Light: Wait for the green LED on the charger to blink. This indicates the probes are paired with the dock.
Once ready, the app will show “MEATER Pro XL Found”.
Step 4. Connect to WiFi
Follow the prompts to connect the MEATER Pro XL to WiFi:
- WiFi Network Range: Ensure the unit is within WiFi range.
- Select the Network: Choose your WiFi network from the list.
- Enter WiFi Password: Enter your password carefully.
- Connection Complete: Once connected, the app will confirm setup is successful.
Step 5. Update Firmware (If Prompted)
If a firmware update is available, the app will prompt you to proceed.
- Screen Behavior: The dock will display an update progress bar.

Step 6. Start Cooking!
Once setup is complete, you will see the cook dashboard. Your MEATER Pro XL is now ready to use.
First Time Cooking After Pairing
After pairing, the app may show the Getting Started or Quick Start Guide. You must watch three short videos before your first cook.
Each video is under 30 seconds. You may skip them, but all three must be watched before starting your first cook. If you try to start a cook early, the app will prompt you to finish the videos.
