About Replacing Separate Components

In many cases, when a replacement is authorized, we send only the specific part you need (either the probe or the dock) rather than the full unit.

Follow the steps below to pair the new component and ensure everything connects correctly. These steps vary by product.

If the unit still doesn't connect to the app after following the steps for your individual product, follow Removing a Device from the App to remove the device from the app, then use the respective pairing article for your unit (listed above) to start the pairing process again.

The Original MEATER

Original MEATER - Replacement Probe

  1. Put the new probe in the charging dock and let it charge for at least 2 hours.
  2. Tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the MEATER app dashboard and select "My Devices".
  3. Under "My Paired Probes", find the old probe that was replaced, then drag it to the left and tap the "x" that appears to unpair it.
  4. Return to the dashboard.
  5. Remove the probe from the dock.
  6. Go through the Quick Start Guide and follow the instructions to pair the new probe.
    • When the probe is removed from the dock, a pop-up should automatically appear indicating that there's a probe available nearby.
    • If the pop-up doesn't appear, tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner, choose "Add Devices" > "One probe" > "MEATER".

Original MEATER - Replacement Charging Dock

The original MEATER doesn't have a repeater function in the dock, so if only the dock was replaced but not the probe, no new pairing steps are needed. Simply put your probe in the new dock, let it charge, and continue using it as before.

MEATER Plus & MEATER SE

MEATER Plus/SE - Pairing a Replacement Probe

Power cycle the device using these steps:

  1. Put the new probe in the charging dock and let it charge for at least 2 hours.
  2. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone or tablet.
  3. Take the AAA battery out of the dock and wait 30 seconds.
  4. Put the battery back in and wait 10 seconds.
  5. Take the probe out of the dock and wait for the LED to blink green, indicating that the new probe has paired to the dock.
  6. Switch your phone/tablet's Bluetooth back on.

MEATER Plus/SE - Replacement Charging Dock

There are two parts to the charging dock pairing process.

1. Probe-to-Dock Pairing

  1. Open the battery compartment in the back of the new charging dock, remove the white tab under the battery, and press the black button on the front of the dock to make sure the LED lights up green.
  2. Put the probe in the dock and let it charge for at least 2 hours.
  3. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone or tablet.
  4. Take the AAA battery out of the dock and wait 30 seconds.
  5. Put the battery back in and wait 10 seconds.
  6. Take the probe out of the dock and wait for the LED to blink green, indicating that the probe has paired to the new dock.
  7. Switch your phone/tablet's Bluetooth back on.

2. Dock-to-Phone Pairing

  1. Tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the MEATER app dashboard and select "My Devices".
  2. Under "My Paired Extender Devices", find the old MEATER Plus or MEATER SE that was replaced, then drag it to the left and tap the "x" that appears to unpair it.
  3. Return to the dashboard.
  4. Remove the probe from the dock.
  5. Go through the Quick Start Guide and follow the instructions to pair your new MEATER Plus or MEATER SE.
    • When the probe is removed from the dock, a pop-up should automatically appear indicating that there's a device available nearby.
    • If the pop-up doesn't appear, tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner, choose "Add Devices" > "One probe", then select "MEATER Plus" or "MEATER SE".
MEATER Block

MEATER Block - Replacement Probe

  1. Put the new probe in the charging dock and let it charge for at least 8 hours.
  2. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone or tablet.
  3. Turn on the dock in either mode.
  4. Press the settings button (the gear icon) on the touchpad, then scroll down and select "Probe Pairing".
  5. Wait for check marks to appear next to all 4 probes.
  6. Switch your phone/tablet's Bluetooth back on.

MEATER Block - Replacement Charging Dock

There are two parts to the charging dock pairing process.

1. Probe-to-Dock Pairing

  1. Put all 4 probes in the new charging dock.
  2. Open the battery compartment in the back of the dock, remove the white tab, and press the power button on the front of the dock to make sure the screen turns on.
    • The dock may also turn on automatically when the battery tab is removed.
  3. Let the probes charge for at least 8 hours with the dock turned off.

2. Dock-to-Phone Pairing

  1. Tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the MEATER app dashboard and select "My Devices".
  2. Under "My Paired Extender Devices", find the old MEATER Block that was replaced, then drag it to the left and tap the "x" that appears to unpair it.
  3. Return to the dashboard.
  4. Switch on the dock in WiFi mode.
    • The dock should automatically boot up in WiFi mode when it's being set up, and the screen will show "Open App + Add Device".
  5. Go through the Quick Start Guide and follow the instructions to pair your new MEATER Block.
    • When the dock is turned on in WiFi mode, a pop-up should automatically appear indicating that there's a device available nearby.
    • If the pop-up doesn't appear, tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner, choose "Add Devices" > "Four probes" > "MEATER Block".

If any of the probes are showing spinning circles after pairing the dock to the MEATER app, follow the steps in the "Replacement Probe" section above.

MEATER Pro

MEATER Pro - Replacement Probe

  1. Put the new probe in the charging dock and let it charge for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Take the AAA battery out of the dock and wait 30 seconds.
  3. Put the battery back in and wait 10 seconds.
  4. Take the probe out of the dock and wait for the LED to blink green after 10 seconds, indicating that the new probe has paired to the dock.
    • The LED will always blink green for 10 seconds after the probe is removed, and then will blink green or red to show the connection status.

MEATER Pro - Replacement Charging Dock

There are two parts to the charging dock pairing process.

1. Probe-to-Dock Pairing

  1. Open the battery compartment in the back of the new charging dock, remove the white tab under the battery, and check the LED on the front of the dock to make sure it lights up green for 3 seconds after the tab is removed.
    • If you miss the 3-second light, simply take out the battery and put it back in — the LED will light up for 3 seconds when the battery is inserted.
  2. Put the probe in the dock and let it charge for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Take the AAA battery out of the dock and wait 30 seconds.
  4. Put the battery back in and wait 10 seconds.
  5. Take the probe out of the dock and wait for the LED to blink green after 10 seconds, indicating that the probe has paired to the new dock.
    • The LED will always blink green for 10 seconds after the probe is removed, and then will blink green or red to show the connection status.

2. Dock-to-Phone Pairing

  1. Tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the MEATER app dashboard and select "My Devices".
  2. Under "My Paired Extender Devices", find the old MEATER Pro that was replaced, then drag it to the left and tap the "x" that appears to unpair it.
  3. Return to the dashboard.
  4. Remove the probe from the dock.
  5. Go through the Quick Start Guide and follow the instructions to pair your new MEATER Pro.
    • When the probe is removed from the dock, a pop-up should automatically appear indicating that there's a device available nearby.
    • If the pop-up doesn't appear, tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner, choose "Add Devices" > "One probe" > "MEATER Pro".
MEATER Pro Duo

MEATER Pro Duo - Replacement Probe

  1. Tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the MEATER app dashboard and select "My Devices".
  2. Select MEATER Pro Duo under "My Paired Extender Devices".
  3. Tap "Reset MEATER Pro Duo" (iOS) or "Device Reset" (Android).
  4. Select "Pair Probes" (iOS) or "Unpair Probes" (Android).
  5. Follow the instructions in the app to unpair any probes previously paired to the dock.
  6. Put the new probe in the charging dock and let it charge for at least 15 minutes.
  7. Take the probe out of the dock and wait for the LED on the same side to blink green after 10 seconds, indicating that the new probe has paired to the dock.
    • The LED will always blink green for 10 seconds after the probe is removed, and then will blink green or red to show the connection status.

MEATER Pro Duo - Replacement Charging Dock

There are two parts to the charging dock pairing process.

1. Probe-to-Dock Pairing

  1. Put the probes in the new charging dock.
  2. Plug in the dock and let everything charge for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Take the probes out of the dock and wait for both LEDs to blink green after 10 seconds, indicating that the probes have paired to the new dock.
    • The LEDs will always blink green for 10 seconds after the probes are removed, and then will blink green or red to show the connection status.

2. Dock-to-Phone Pairing

  1. Tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the MEATER app dashboard and select "My Devices".
  2. Under "My Paired Extender Devices", find the old MEATER Pro Duo that was replaced, then drag it to the left and tap the "x" that appears to unpair it.
  3. Return to the dashboard.
  4. Remove a probe from the dock.
  5. Go through the Quick Start Guide and follow the instructions to pair your new MEATER Pro Duo.
    • When the probe is removed from the dock, a pop-up should automatically appear indicating that there's a device available nearby.
    • If the pop-up doesn't appear, tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner, choose "Add Devices" > "Two probes" > "MEATER Pro Duo".
MEATER Pro XL

MEATER Pro XL - Pairing a Replacement Probe

  1. Put the new probe in the charging dock and let it charge for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Turn on the dock in either mode.
  3. Press the settings button (the list icon) on the touchpad, then scroll down and select "Probe Pairing".
  4. Wait for charging icons to appear next to all 4 probes.

MEATER Pro XL - Replacement Charging Dock

There are two parts to the charging dock pairing process.

1. Probe-to-Dock Pairing

  1. Put all 4 probes in the new charging dock.
  2. Plug in the dock and let everything charge for at least 15 minutes.

2. Dock-to-Phone Pairing

  1. Tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the MEATER app dashboard and select "My Devices".
  2. Under "My Paired Extender Devices", find the old MEATER Pro XL that was replaced, then drag it to the left and tap the "x" that appears to unpair it.
  3. Return to the dashboard.
  4. Switch on the dock in WiFi mode.
    • The dock should automatically boot up in WiFi mode when it's being set up, and the screen will show "Open App + Add Device".
  5. Go through the Quick Start Guide and follow the instructions to pair your new MEATER Pro XL.
    • When the dock is turned on in WiFi mode, a pop-up should automatically appear indicating that there's a device available nearby.
    • If the pop-up doesn't appear, tap the 3 dots in the upper right corner, choose "Add Devices" > "Four probes" > "MEATER Pro XL".

If any of the probes are showing spinning circles after pairing the dock to the MEATER app, follow the steps in the "Replacement Probe" section above.
