How to Pair Your MEATER Block with the MEATER App
Pairing your MEATER Block is a simple process you can complete in just a few easy steps.
1. Charge Your MEATER Block Probes
Open the battery cover on the back of the charging dock and remove the battery tab.
Before pairing, we recommend charging the probes for at least 8 hours. This helps ensure a smooth pairing process and prevents issues like disconnections.
2. Download & Open the MEATER App
Download the MEATER app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Open the MEATER App.
- If you're opening the app for the first time, you'll be prompted to create or sign into a MEATER Cloud account.
- Tap Add Devices.
- If you already have a paired MEATER device, tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the home screen, then select Add Devices.
- Select the product. For MEATER Block, choose Four probes.
- Select MEATER Block.
3. Accept Safety Agreement and Review Educational Content
You'll need to accept the Safety Agreement before proceeding. After that, the app will show a few educational screens explaining temperature sensors, the battery tab, how to use the temperature scale, and device charging:
4. Prepare Your Unit for Pairing
When you reach the Pairing Screen, prepare your unit for pairing.
- Turn on your MEATER Block.

First-time use: The screen will display Open App + Add Block.

Previously used: Select Use WiFi.

- The app will search for nearby devices. Once found, it will display MEATER Block Found.
- If multiple MEATER Blocks are nearby, you'll be prompted to choose your device from a list.

5. Connect Your Unit to WiFi
The app will now guide you to connect your MEATER Block to your WiFi network.

WiFi Network Range: Ensure your MEATER Block is within range of your WiFi network to avoid connectivity issues.

Select the Network: The app will show a list of available WiFi networks. Choose your preferred 2.4GHz band network.

Enter WiFi Password: After selecting the network, enter your WiFi password. It may take a moment for the app to connect your MEATER Block to the network.

Connection Complete Screen: Once connected, the app will display a Connection Complete screen, confirming your MEATER Block is paired with the network and ready to use.
5.1 Update Firmware, If Needed
If a firmware update is available, the app will prompt you to proceed with a firmware update.
- Screen Behavior: The screen on the Block’s dock will display an update progress bar, so you can track its progress.
We recommend completing the update to ensure your device runs the latest version, avoiding potential issues during setup or future use.
Firmware Update Fails: If the app doesn’t show the connection complete screen or the connection fails, refer to MEATER Block Not Connecting for additional steps.
6. Start Cooking!
Once setup is complete, you’ll be taken to the cook dashboard. From here, you can start using your MEATER Block to cook.

After pairing, the app may take you to the Getting Started or Quick Start Guide screen. You’ll need to watch four short videos about using your MEATER product.
Each video is under 30 seconds long. You can skip them, but you must watch all four before starting your first cook. If you try to start cooking without watching them, the app will prompt you to view them first.
Pairing After Using the Block Without WiFi
If WiFi wasn’t set up initially, follow these steps to connect it:
- Tap three dots Add Devices MEATER Block Configure WiFi.
- Select your network, enter the password, tap Connect Done.
Switching WiFi Networks
- Ensure your phone is connected to the new network.
- Open the MEATER app.
- Turn on your Block Tap Settings on the Block Select Setup WiFi.
- Tap three dots Add Devices MEATER Block Configure WiFi.
- Follow the app’s instructions to complete the setup.
